Factories add hydrogenated oil to extend the shelf life of their products, and you know that saying of “the longer the shelf life, the shorter yours” so, no thank you, we don’t need the jar with the one year expiration date. Once you start making your own peanut butter or any nut butter at home, you will never go back to buying the manufactured ones. Try it!

I used to do be a morning coffee drinker. I needed my cup of coffee to function and start my day, or so I thought. The best time to consume the green smoothie is early in the morning to get the maximum benefits out of it. You can always have it as a snack between meals as well; its low in calories and high in fiber so it can fill you up between meals.

How to Make Almond Milk

We have noticed that a couple of the local supermarkets in Egypt are starting to sell almond milk. This is good news but when your only option is buying the imported ones at about 35 pounds a carton, homemade almond milk starts sounding more appealing for two reasons: zero preservatives (healthier) and less expensive! Eating healthy or drinking in this case doesn’t have to cost you a fortune. If you drink it occasionally then, it’s not that big of a deal. But for someone like me who substitutes almond milk for dairy in almost everything, its get a little too much. So, the good news is that we can make our own almond milk at home and all you really need is almonds, water and a food processor (you can scroll down for the ingredients)

Homemade almond milk ensures that the milk is raw with zero preservatives and full of its optimal nutritional power. You also get to control the sweetness, fat content, thickness, and taste. I don’t know about you, but I like to know what exactly goes into my food. Almond milk is a rich source of vitamin E, magnesium, and potassium. Not only that but it is cholesterol free.
