Smoothies are a great way of easing your body into a normal diet again; they are easily digestible and can act as an intense shot of vitamins and nutrients to your system. Chia and Cherry Smoothie Jars
This recipe by papaya sunshine is bound to leave you swooning. The mixture of chia pudding and smoothie adds a lot of texture and bulk to the meal, helping fill you up at breakfast without leaving you feeling uncomfortable or bloated.
- 1/4 cup of chia seeds
- 1 cup of coconut milk
- 1 tsp of vanilla bean paste
- 1 tbs of maple syrup
Leave to soak for a minimum of 4 hours then stir well to avoid clumping.
- 1 cup of frozen raspberries
- 1/2 cup of pitted cherries
- 1 banana
- 1/2 cup of coconut milk
- 1 tbs vanilla protein powder
Blend all ingredients together until smooth.
Chocolate Smoothie Bomb
Sometimes we need a chocolate fix, and having it in smoothie form rather than as cake is much better for both our health and our waistlines. The recipe below, again by papaya sunshine, is a foolproof way of healthily satisfying your chocolate craving.
- 1/4 cup of whole hazelnuts, skinned and soaked overnight
- 1 tbs raw cacao powder
- 1 tbs chocolate protein powder
- 1 frozen banana
- 2-4 soft pitted dates
- 3/4 cup hazelnut milk
- 1 tsp vanilla bean paste or powder
- Some ice cubes
Blend everything together in a blender until smooth and creamy.
