Edit: This Challenge doesn’t just have to be in the month of October, it was just originally written last October. But it works on any month you want.
Brace yourself because you’re about to be part of The Daily Crisp’s first ever #CrispChallenge. Today, the 1st of October marks the first day of our very own 30 Day Water Challenge. It’s a simple as the name suggests, we challenge you and everyone here at our office to drink your recommended daily intake of water for 30 straight days.
What is your recommended daily water intake?
There are several ways you can measure an approximation of how much water your body needs to function at it’s best every day. The one recommended by the Mayo Clinic is what we’re using for this specific water challenge. This is how you’ll calculate just how much you need to drink every day.
1. Take your weight in Kilograms
2. Multiply the number depending on your age
- younger than 30, multiply by 40.
- between 30 and 55, multiply by 35.
- older than 55, multiply by 30.
3. Your total is how many milliliters of water you should drink each day.
Of course, it goes without saying that if you regularly do any sort of physical exertion like going to the gym or you have a very active job description, you need to add to that amount. You should aim to drink 350mls more for every 30mins of exercise or physical exertion you do.
Here’s how much each one of us here at The Daily Crisp will have to drink (without exercise)
Why do you need to drink enough water every day?
Proper water intake is crucial for your body to function at it’s utmost best! If you drink enough water, you help your body detoxify itself from all the harmful toxins you ingest from processed foods, fruit that wasn’t properly cleaned, etc. Water also helps your skin regain its elasticity, helps in decreasing the number of breakouts you get (because it clears out your body’s toxins) and give your face this plum healthy glow. I could literally go on and on about how good water is for your body, mind and maybe even soul.
