Who doesn’t want to achieve the ‘perfect’ smile with clean, white teeth? Literally no one! The thing is, however, that most foods we eat, and most drinks we consume, as well as our natural ageing process all contribute to the weakening of our enamel- the white outer layer of the teeth. This, in turn, contributes to our teeth appearing darker or more yellow-ish than we’d like. Here are some natural ways you can begin to brighten your teeth at home:
The Baking Soda Scrub:
All you’ll need is a teaspoon of baking soda and a few drops of water to form a paste. Mix them together to form a paste and brush your teeth using that paste using a toothbrush. Do this scrub every two weeks. The thing about baking soda is that it will naturally remove plaque while also naturally polishing your teeth.
This is one ancient practice that is supposed to clean your mouth from all the bacteria and leave you with fresher breath. I would personally recommend doing this using coconut oil as it does have a pleasant taste. Simply take a teaspoon of the oil and swish it all around your mouth for a few minutes before spitting it out. Do this every couple of days.
Apple Cider Vinegar Rinse:
Here’s another kitchen staple that could easily be used to give your teeth some oomph. Simply use a mouthful of apple cider vinegar as a mouth rinse throughout the day and you will not just feel instantly refreshed, but you will also start seeing some changes in the color of your teeth over the course of a few weeks.
Eat Your Strawberries:
Strawberries have malic acid, which is a natural tooth whitening agent. Simply adding more strawberries to your diet or mashing them to form a paste and scrub your teeth with them can help with brightening them.
