7 Cairo Schools for Special Needs Learners

in Live/Parenthood by

It’s no secret that many parents break their backs working so every year they can  afford putting their children into private or international education systems. These alternatives, however, are still severely lacking and very few have accessible programs for children with special needs.

Putting a special needs or differently abled child into a normal school and expecting him/her to cope with it is not fair. Many parents don’t want to recognize their child may have a mental or learning disability due to the social stigma surrounding it, but also because there is a lack of resources if they do admit to the problem or have their child diagnosed. They are faced with the dilemma of “Now what?” when it comes to finding a decent education for a challenged learner. But, ignoring issues can very well cause more damage than good in helping a disabled child progress. School, especially for the developmentally disabled, is not just about pushing them grade after grade until they get some kind of degree, but needs to be about correctly nurturing them and their abilities.

Below is a list of schools and centers that offer services especially tailored for children with special needs, ranging from severe ADHD to Cerebral Palsy. Some are complete academic systems while others provide different services, including training and sessions for both children and parents.
