Carrot Soup with Yogurt

2 teaspoons dark sesame oil
1 large sliced shallot (onion)
½ kg carrots, peeled and cut
2 cups chicken broth
1 tsp grated peeled fresh ginger
½ cup plain yogurt
8 fresh mint sprigs

For the ones who would rather miss an Iftar gathering so they don’t ruin their diet…

Yogurt-Marinated Chicken

Chicken Breasts
1 small onion, sliced
3 garlic cloves, minced
2 tbsp paprika
2 tbsp lemon juice
1 tbsp all spice
½ tsp cumin
2 cups yogurt

In an electric mixer, mix lemon juice, salt, garlic, 1 tbsp water, cumin, paprika, all-spice, black pepper and yogurt.
Marinate the chicken with the mixture and place in a baking tray.
Leave in the oven on medium heat for about 45 minutes.

For the kids who love smoothie…

Banana Breakfast Shake

½ cup Yogurt
½ cup Oats
1 count Frozen peeled banana
½ cup Milk
1 tsp Ground cinnamon

Mix all ingredients together in a blender


For the ones who always show up to gatherings straight from a workout…

Yogurt with Honey and Cinnamon

2 cups yogurt
1 tsp honey

Mix all ingredients together


For the ones who always need to get their sweet fix…                

Honeyed Frozen Yogurt With Berry Swirl

– Berry jam:
200g frozen mixed berries
1/4 cup honey
2 tsp white balsamic vinegar

– Frozen yogurt:
3 cups cold plain yogurt
1/2 cup cold half-and-half milk
1/2 cup honey
1 tsp vanilla extract

Healthy Caesar Salad Dressing

1 cup Yogurt
1 clove of garlic, minced
Juice of ½ lemon
Dry zaatar
1 teaspoon mustard sauce
½ – 1 teaspoon honey

Mix together all the ingredients in a bowl and add to your caesar salad.


For the ones who love to dip their food…

Yogurt Dip:

2 cups of yogurt
2 tbsp lemon juice
1 tsp olive oil

Mix yogurt with lemon, olive oil and dill.


For the lovers of wholesome-hearty meals…

Lebanese Fatteh with Yogurt

1 pita bread
1 can (400g) chickpeas
1 ½ tablespoons pine nuts
1 clove garlic, crushed
¾ cup plain yogurt
1/4 cup of chicken stock liquid
¼ teaspoon salt
A pinch each of cumin powder, sumac powder, coriander powder, nutmeg powder, and ground black pepper
Extra virgin olive oil

Baked Potato Wedges and Ranch Dressing

– Wedges
2 Unpeeled potatoes, washed and dried
1/4 tsp Garlic powder
1/4 tbsp Paprika
2 tbsp Olive oil
2 Green onion sprigs, diced
Salt and pepper to taste

– Ranch Dressing
1 Plain Yogurt container
1/4 cup Sour cream
1 tbsp Rayeb (buttermilk)
1/8 tsp Paprika
1/4 tsp Garlic powder
1 tsp Lemon juice
Salt and pepper to taste
