Sometimes, makeup helps to camouflage a zit. But what your skin really needs in such desperate times is a good, strong, healthy treatment to get rid of that pimple and keep others away for good.

Believe it or not, all you need for this sort of spot treatment are kitchen ingredients you probably have lying around already: honey and cinnamon. Honey, especially raw, is an effective antiseptic and is a great skin disinfectant. Not to mention, it has anti-inflammatory properties that specifically target swelling and redness caused by acne. As for cinnamon, it is a natural anti-bacterial. It also works very well in drawing blood and nutrients to the surface of the skin thus speeding up the healing process.

For this Zit-Zapper Mask:

  • 1 tsp honey(preferably raw or Manuka honey)
  • 1 tsp cinnamon powder

Mix honey and cinnamon until you form a brown paste. Apply the paste as an overnight zit treatment or use it as a weekly mask, covering your entire face with it for 30 minutes. Proceed to rinse your face with warm water to dissolve the honey, splash your face with cold water to close pores and finish with your regular skincare routine.

This is a very safe, chemical-free method with all-natural ingredients that won’t cause any facial dryness like the usual skin dehydration caused by the stronger over-the-counter pimple treatments.
