If you need to drag yourself out of bed every morning and you snooze the alarm five times (sometimes more) to go exercise, you’re doing it wrong. Working out can and should be something you actually look forward to. Some small variations to what you usually do can completely refresh your routine and change how you feel about exercising altogether.

    It’s no secret that listening to the right beats will make you run that extra minute, finish that last rep, or bike longer. There is plenty of evidence to prove that music distracts people from pain and fatigue, elevates mood, increases endurance and reduces perceived effort. Make an epic workout playlist of songs that put you in the right mindset, and shake it off like you own it!
  1. Workout Partner
    Like they say: there’s power in numbers. When you’ve got someone else with you it’s much less intimidating to start using the gym, going to new classes, hitting the free weights or just trying out new exercise equipment. We all have days where we need that extra kick to help motivate us. Having a workout partner who relies on you to be there, to motivate them, and to perform better with them each time will keep your spirits high, banish any motivation struggles you have, and make everything a lot more fun.
  1. The Gym Is Not For Everyone
    The gym can be a very intimidating place, especially for those of us conscious of how we look or how we’re performing. You should be working out in an environment where you feel relaxed and comfortable. That could be a simple outdoor space, or maybe your bedroom. There are plenty of at home workouts that will help you break a sweat and workout just as hard as hitting the gym. Start off small, take baby steps, and once you get more confident you can experiment exercising in new places.
  1. Buy New Workout Gear
    Not only does a new workout outfit make you feel better about yourself and look pretty damn good, wearing the right materials and shoe types for your specific workout routine will kiss away blisters, reduce sweaty appearance, and keep you feeling top notch from start to finish. Also, it’s a great excuse to go shopping!

Remember, you can get a serious workout, without being serious at all! Find out what works for you and stick to a consistent routine. Once you get used to exercising you won’t be able to live without it.
