Wedding season is upon us and that means brides everywhere are paying a little bit extra attention to their bodies, exfoliating a bit more often and moisturizing more regularly. But amidst all the scrubs waxing and plucking a lot of women scrutinize themselves a bit too much, finding flaws where there are none.

While we always preach that every single woman is beautiful in all of her glory with “flaws” and all, because beauty comes in all shapes, sizes, and colors, we want to help everyone feel beautiful. That’s why we’ve decided to address a common issue that bothers most Egyptian women about themselves, and that is Hyperpigmented elbows, knees and bikini area. So, if you are one that has an issue with these specific body parts and you want to naturally brighten them, here is your weekly routine.

This is the schedule you need to go on and how to alternate each scrub every day for the best results. This is just one week’s plan, feel free to repeat this week as often as you feel you need. If you’re doing this before your wedding, start as early as possible to allow yourself the most time for this natural treatment to make an effect. Natural remedies take more time than chemical ones, but they are 100% healthier for your body.

Sugar Scrub:

How To Make:

Equal parts olive oil and sugar.

  • Olive oil is highly hydrating for your skin because of its anti-aging antioxidants and its high content of Vitamin E.
  • Sugar is a natural humectant which means it’s good at retaining moisture, so using sugar in your scrub will help exfoliate your skin while not stripping it away from its natural moisture.

Lemon/Lime Juice:

  • Lemon Juice is an amazing lightening agent that helps disinfect the body part you apply it to and works wonders on brightening that particular area. Just make sure to moisturize well after you use this scrub as lemons can be a bit drying on some skin types

Almond Oil:

Benefits: Its high concentration of Vitamin E, A, and fatty acids makes this oil perfect for keeping your skin hydrated, subtle and works great for brightening hyperpigmentation.

Yogurt Mask:

How To Make:

One cup of yogurt (or how much you’ll need for the intended body part).

Its lactic acid moisturizes and nourishes dry skin while the Vitamin B5 in the yogurt brightens dull skin and reduces dark spots and acne scars. It contains vitamin B12, which lightens the skin discoloration.

Potato Slices:

How To Make:

The easiest way instead of juicing your potato, to cut really thin slices of the potato and rub them on your skin and let it dry up.

Because of the enzyme “Catecholase” found in potatoes, they have natural bleaching properties that can help lighten dark skin effectively.

Baking Soda Mask:

How To Make:

Equal parts baking soda and lemon/lime juice.

This concoction is an incredible exfoliant that helps remove dead skin and brightens the area at the same time (because of the lemon juice). So, you’ll have smoother, softer and brighter looking skin.

Shea Butter:

Because of its abundance of natural vitamins and fatty acids, shea butter is incredibly nourishing and moisturizing for your skin.

Now you know how to brighten your needs and you have your very own schedule to follow for the best results, you can see how you can pay attention to other parts of your body whether your wedding day is approaching or not, pampering yourself and giving your body a little TLC is sometimes the best kind of self-love!
