Winter Cherry
The fruit of a plant of uncertain origin that belongs to the same family as the tomato, eggplant, bell pepper and potato. The ripened fruit is used to make medicine. It is red, orange, or yellow- green in color. The fruit is not very juicy and sweet, and has a bit of a bitter taste.
Choose: firm, evenly colored winter cherries without mold.
At room temperature: for ripening.
In the fridge: 2 days, covered with a cloth.
In the freezer: without the calyx.
