Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ve probably heard all about the upcoming royal wedding. Already an established actress, Meghan has become a household name. She is also known for following a healthy regimen that she is very outspoken about and so I decided to put it to the test for a full week.

A hot glass of water with lemon is how she starts her days and so for the entire week, that’s what I woke up. This ritual is known for regulating digestion, cleansing the body, and flushing out toxins.

After that, her breakfast is always some oatmeal topped with fruits. Thankfully, I’m obsessed with oats, and so I got creative. Sometimes I’d top my oatmeal with bananas or berries or maybe add a teaspoon of honey or all-natural peanut butter.

Meghan tries to follow a mostly clean diet, and so her lunch would be a salad with a side of lean protein. I also got creative with this one. I’d sometimes have a grilled chicken breast with sauteed veggies, or add a light lemon sauce to the chicken with a side of fresh green salad.

Her afternoon snack is always a green juice and so I had a different smoothie from our very own local brand GLOW every day. My faves were definitely Confused Strawberry, Berrified and Tropical Green.

Finally, for dinner, she’d have pasta with vegetables and so that’s mostly what I had. I actually topped my pasta with cucumbers, lettuce and tomatoes and drizzled it with light yoghurt.

So? How did the diet make me feel? Honestly, it was a very easy to follow the diet and all the meals were quite filling. My digestion definitely improved and I was full of energy all week long. I just need to get even more creative with the meal options in order to turn this into a long-term regimen.

The best thing about Meghan’s outlook on food is that she tries to eat as healthy as possible but wouldn’t beat herself up if she cheated a little. She’s always said that she’s a foodie and indulges in fries and pasta, but she keeps everything in balance which is what makes her whole regimen absolutely doable and healthy.
