Having a blog is one of the best ways you can communicate with the world your message and convey what you want with your audience. However, it’s a lot of work that most people are intimidated why. This is why we asked Nariman Farouk, upcoming beauty blogger to help you navigate the confusing waters of beauty blogging.
What do you think is your highest performing content and why?
The ‘Life With N’ blog is a platform where I can share my passion for beauty. I think my Instagram page stands out because of my dedication to keeping a pink aesthetic and high-quality content; I don’t post for the sake of posting, I post because I want to and I think this is what’s causing it to do so well.
What is one thing you’ve done that’s made a huge difference with your social media presence?
The images I post that stick out the most and get the most engagement are usually the ones that I’m in. Everyone likes a pretty flat lay but everyone LOVES to know what you’re actually doing, what you’re wearing, where you’re going and who you’re with. Put yourself forward, we’re all just nosey beings if you think about it.
What is one way you’ve defined your personal brand online?
Other than my Instagram theme, I think keeping it very real with my followers have made me stand out compared to other bloggers. I reply to EVERY message, I always hated sending a message to my favorite bloggers only to never get a response. I keep it very honest with my followers too, I only recommended products or services I have tried and genuinely loved. It’s not about money or fame to me; it’s about sharing my knowledge.
What is one thing you wish most beauty bloggers knew?
I wish most beauty bloggers knew that it’s not just about the number of followers or likes. It’s about your content; be true to yourself and your brand, the numbers will come sooner or later.
Developing your online blog means that you have to dabble in many things. What are the skills you’ve learned to really take your blog to the next level?
I’m very fortunate to have a BA in art, design, and media. My university background has really helped me create creative content and fun graphics for my page. But now there’s an app for everything, so don’t let that hold you back. Use whatever tools you can, apps, websites, and even your tech-savvy friends! You can do anything you put your mind to.
